Frequently asked questions about Micro Hair Pigmentation treatment aftercare

What does the aftercare of my MHP look like?

After Micro Hair Pigmentation treatment, pigmentation will be darker than the final result. During the healing process, you should treat gently and carefully the pigmented skin. During the first four days, do not wet the pigmentation. We strongly recommend to postpone showering, washing, swimming, sauna or otherwise. Take care not to scratch and do not expose skin to UV light (sunlight or tanning bed). Furthermore, during the first 4 days after the treatment no overexertion; no sports or other things that make you perspire. Only the special White Vaseline can be applied to the pigmentation. All this is to ensure that the pigmentation heals as quickly as possible. Here, the goal to achieve is that as much pigment as possible is retained in the skin. Inflammation or other skin problems during the healing period of the treated area are not common. After about a week, the pigmentation will suddenly seem less visible. This is due to the fact that the healing skin sometimes will not be transparent at first. This however will restore itself quickly enough, after which the pigmentation will be visible again. After a week following the treatment, you are allowed to wash the hair with a gentle shampoo.

What will the skin look like directly after the MHP treatment?

Immediately after the MHP treatment the scalp will look slightly red and irritated as if it has been sunburned. This especially applies to patients with light to very light skin. After several days, the redness will be reduced to a minimum. It is normal for irritation to last for about 2 to 3 days.

What happens after the appointment for treatment is set up?

It’s important that you are on time on the day of treatment. If you arrive later this can result in a shortened treatment time. Also you need to have any and all papers filled out, after which the treatment will begin. First we discuss the expectations and possibilities. Then draw the new hair line in full agreement with a client. We will then discuss the preferred colour. Usually the basic pigmentation is done with a slightly lighter tone than your hair because it gives a better end result. At the end of the treatment client decides whether he or she likes the results and requests adjustments if needed. Finally we inform a client about aftercare for optimal result.
